My Rugby Playing Aunt

Not sure what is going on ere, but Morgs is lifting her teammate up by her shorts.

Lots of lower body strength going on here.

This hourse liked Josh's jacket.

Grace & I just taking it all in.

Warm ups.

That took a lot of courage for Morgs to wear that shirt in front of 3 WildCats.

Run Grace run, Aunty Morgs is going to tackle you and it will hurt.

Again not sure what is happening, but it is intense.

This weekend Grace and the Johnston family heading north to Bellingham to watch the WWU Flames ( aka the rugby team) kick some butt on a team from CA. I realized why I only lasted one week at CWU playing rugby. These chicks are hard and very aggressive. Good thing there were horses near by to distract Grace from all the rough play, although I do think she was very entertained by it all.

Aunty Morgan (Josh's little sis) is number 1 on the team. We are so proud of her, she is like really good at this sport. What I am amazed at is that they all kick the you know what out of each other, then they go have one big social together. Love that.

Wednesday

15 months

Grace is officially 15 months old. We had her check up on Monday of this week. Here are her numbers:
95% For the size of her HEAD ( Lots of smarts in there)
50% For her height ( Let's hope those Brosseau genes kick in soon)
50% For her weight ( Let's hope she maintains this)

All good numbers, doctor is happy and we are happy.

Growing up so fast. Next doctor appointment is when she turns 2. That is going to come quick I imagine.

QT Time With Grandma & Papa Brosseau

Last weekend Grace and I spent the weekend at the parents house. Cooked meals, relaxing, mommy got time to get a pedicure and do some shopping. Of course I only shopped for Grace. Nothing beats a weekend spend with your parents!

Trip To the Seattle Aquarium

Peter, Jack, Grace & I went to the Seattle Aquarium last Saturday. Jack was into the fish, Grace was into Jack, Peter had to keep track of Jack and I had to keep up with Grace. It was one busy morning of fun.

Thursday

Toe In the Mouth

Wish I could do this...

Easter Sunday

For those of you that missed this amazing Easter Egg Hunt, here you go! Grace picked up one maybe two eggs, then dig a belly dive on the grass and then the horses across the street caught her attention for the rest of the afternoon.
Josh and I looked like your typical first time parents with all the equipment that we brought outside for the 2 minute hunt. We had the camera, the video camera & the cell phone camera all on hand.

Monday

2nd Daddy Daughter Dance

Getting ready for the dance.
Dancing with dad can be scary Grace!
Family shot!
Cute as can be.
By far Grace's favorite part of the dance, the CUP CAKE!
This past Saturday, March 15, 2008 Grace and her dear daddy went to the 4th Annual Daddy Daughter Dance. Grace was very much entertained by all the lights, balloons and other little girls that were dancing around.
Grace was more into the purple cupcakes and playing in the rocks outside the center then actually dancing. I think Josh was ok with that. Next year Josh won't be able to get Grace off the dance center.

Tuesday

Water Wiggles

Last night we took Grace to her first Water Wiggles class at the community pool. At first she was a little unsure of the huge blue pool, but in no time she warmed up to the idea of jumping & splashing around in the water.
I quickly realized that the more funny sounds and faces I made the more Grace seemed to like the class.
Although there were dads in the water with the babies as well, Josh choose to watch from the side. We looked like first time parents. We were the only parents with a video camera, a digital camera and a cell phone camera.
We had to stay away from our new friend Owen, because every time he cried Grace would think about crying as well.
The locker-room after the class was a zoo. There were young kids running around, babies being tossed around in the showers and moms running around with no clothes on. It was intense. I will be a bit more prepared on Wednesday class for all the locker-room activity.

Grace is going to be an excellent swimmer!

Monday

The Babysitter

This weekend Grace had a special babysitter, my BFF Brooke canceled her her busy city plans and came North to spend a little QT time with her god daughter.

She did a great job. She pulled out all the stops, brought props, used high pitch voices and let Grace play on the playground with a 1st graders and jump on the couch and play with her cell phone.

Only got one phone call from Brooke while I was at work. The message she left was that she and Grace could not get back into the house, because the dog was standing near the back door. I think it is time for Brooke to get a puppy!

Brooke you are welcomed to come and babysit Grace anytime!

Wednesday

Full Circle

I've been in the Parks & Recreation field for about 10 years if you include the college years and the internship that landed me the job that I have today. From all those years of running youth camps, coordinating soccer drills, setting up tables for special events and pumping air into a endless mountain of basketballs, today by far was my best day in recreation thus far.

I've been teaching this Time With Toddler class since I first took this job in 01' and today not only did I teach the basic class that encourages interaction with others and works on motor skills. I got to teach the class and take my own DAUGHTER to the class as well.

It was amazing to have my own little toddler right there painting pictures, fighting over toys and walking around with a pole, crayon and a cupcake all in her hands.

What a day it was today. I trust that I will have many more just like it...

Getting Big

This chair was my chair as a little girl. I painted it pink for my little girl.

This sweater was once mine as well. I remember seeing photos of me wearing this sweater.

Grace is ready to go to school here.
Striking a pose in the kitchen.
I wounder what she is thinking...
Yeah SNOW DAY with my dad!

Tuesday

Bring on the 2nd Year

As of yesterday Grace is 13 months old. I wounder when moms stop talking in months of how old their children are? When people ask I should just say she is one. If someone asked my mom how old I was, she could say that I am 348 months old or 29. It's weird to me.

The latest and greatest with Grace is that she is WALKING! Yes that is right. It started with a just 5 steps, 11 steps and then she just took off. She still will get down and crawl if she is in a hurry.

Grace seems to be getting more hair, has 8 teeth, getting taller her belly seems to keep growing out. This morning I had troubles buttoning her pants and had to do the lay down and snap trick.

Grace will attend her first baby shower this weekend. Grace is excited to meet and greet her new friend. Her Yo Yo Auntie Sarah is due to have a boy or girl in March. We cannot wait to shower her with love.
