Keeping Busy

I thought I would share some photos that I have took over the last two weeks. We've been busy this holiday season dancing to music, making princess crowns, having friends over to decorate cookies, family coming up for visits, playing in just the tiny bit of snow and much more.
Grace shaking her booty. I taught her that look back move.

Everyone striking a pose for the camera.

I think Josh taught Grace that move. I think that is the start of what Josh calls the sprinkler.

Emmit hiding behind the tree.

Grace hiding behind the tree, but for other reasons...

That's our Papa letting the kids touch his screen.

Grace and her BFF Natalie decorating cookies.

Emmit all bundled up for the dust of snow on the right. I might have dressed him a bit too warm.

Trying to make a snow man here, not really working but our intentions were good.

Grandma Diane came up for an over night visit so Josh and I could go to holiday party where big surprise I drank too much and then came home to this sweet sight of my mom letting Emmit fall asleep on her chest.

God I love this boy.

Art project time. Josh is very crafty. Must be a teacher thing.

All smiles for the camera.
I think Josh has been tanning? Oh that's right he is like 1/4 Indian or something.

Friday

Sprinkles

There are a lot of sweets in our house and they all include lots of sprinkles. These last two days have been all about cookies and ginger bread houses. Grace, surprisingly was very good at doing the sprinkles evenly on each cookie.
Yup that is Grace bossing us around.

We invited our good friends Ty & Tatum over for ginger bread houses. The kids were not really into doing the houses very long, but they all did a good job.

Grace of course was at the table the longest, eating the fun stuff ( do you blame her) but you can also see Ty's house on the left and Tatum's house on the right.
The final product.

Can't Get Enough Of This

There is going to come a time I know that they won't love on each other like this. So here is to enjoying moments like this.

Ok Grace that is a little tight...

Sunday

Emmit's Birthday Party

People came from far and near to celebrate Emmit's first birthday. It was a great afternoon, thank you to everyone who made the day so special.

Happy First Birthday Emmit

Happy Birthday
Emmit Keith Johnston
In your first year you have proven already that you are a survivor, a fighter, a lover, a joker, a good eater and a strong little boy.
I wish you many birthday wishes dear son, but what I wish for you the most is a lifetime of health and happiness.
Your father and I love you to the moon and back and thank our lucky stars for you. We are truly blessed to have such a perfect little baby boy.

You are the one and only ever you...
Who in the world is exactly like you...
You are a miracle...
Wonderful... marvelous... you...
On the night you were born you brought wonder and magic to the world...
The sound of your name is a magical one...
Not once had there been such eyes, such a nose, such silly, wiggly, wonderful toes...
So whenever you doubt just how special you are and you wonder who loves you, how much and how far, listen for geese honking high in the ski ( They are singing a song to remember you by) Or notice the bears asleep at the zoo. ( It's because they've been dancing all night for you!)
If the moon stays up until morning one day, or a lady bug lands and decides to stay,
or a little bird sits at your window awhile, it's becasue they're all hopping to see you smile...
For never before in a story or rhyme (not even once upon a time)
has the world ever known a you, my friend, and it never will, not ever again...
Heaven blew every trumpet and played every horn on the wonderful , marvelous night you were born...
On the night you were born, the whole world came alive with thanksgiving...
The moon stayed up till morning...
For you are wonderfully made...One night you were born,
the moon smiled with such wonder that the stars peeked in to see you
and the night wind whispered,
Life will never be the same...
You are the one and only ever you...
We love you Emmit.
Happy First Birthday.
P.S. The sweet captions under each photo come from our favorite book that was given to us on the day Emmit was born called, " On the Night you Were Born" by Nancy Tillman.
