Oh Joy

Two days in Vegas with my mom to celebrate her BFF Joy's 60th was awesome.
We were wild. Ok maybe not that wild, but we did pretty good for a bunch of moms and grandmas.
We are sunburned, dehydrated and our feet are killing us.
Vegas you never disappoint!

Highlight of the trip was the quality time I got with my mom.

Thank you Joy for turning 60 and thank you mom for a great time!

Monday

First Day Of School

Grace and Natalie posing in front of the Mt. Erie School Sign
It's about 20 steps to the school. We counted this morning.
Grace is already flocking to the older girls on the play ground.

This is the last photo I took this morning. Right before I took this Grace in a louder then others voice told me, "Mom you can go now".

Taking the steps up to Whitney Pre School.

Miss Lisa teaching Emmit to write his name.
Miss Jodi dismissing the students today.
Emmit you are a Whitney Dragon.

Today the kids both had a great first day of school.
There was no tears, from anyone.
I think everyone involved was ready for the next step.
My throat only choked up a little when I went early to pick up Emmit and I heard him tell his teacher thank you for the day.

Grace made new friends and enjoyed ticket time in school.

Emmit enjoyed playing outside the best.

Josh picked Grace up from school and took both kids to Mad Hatters for a  first day of school ice cream treat.
Overall it was a good first day of school!

Sunday

'twas the night before kindergarten

Her lunch is all packed.
Her outfit picked out.
Magic pillow confetti from her teacher ready by her bed.

To say we are excited, nervous and a little scared would be a under statement.

Am I prepared for her to wave goodbye to me tomorrow ? Not at all.

Chances are my eyes will water.

I will have to throw my shoulders back and carry my head tall, because after her drop off I drive two miles to drop him off for his first day of pre school...

Where again I will predict that my eyes will water...

Saturday

Game 1

Today was game one for my soccer team.
I have to say I was a little scared that we would be too busy making our own team mates cry and not want to run up and down the field.
I was pleasently surprised to see that my team, Electric Eels were game day performers.
The went for the ball. Everyone took shots on goal and most important they had fun.
Grace was excited to play against her good friend Ty and to have scored two goals for her team. It was more then great to be a parks and rec coach today and even better that I was coaching my own kid.

Explorers

A couple of weeks ago we decided to jump on a ferry and see where it took us.
Ok I am totally lying. I am too TYPE A to do that. It was planned from start to finish.
We took the 2:20pm to Friday Harbor for some fish & chips, cold beer and of course ice cream.
What we also found was a Whale Museum and how much fun running on a ferry really is.

Grandma Time

These two kids are lucky to have had some one on one time with their grandma's this summer. I need to document this on the blog and make sure that those grandma's know how much we LOVE and appreciate them!

We love our Grandma's.
