Tuesday

American Girl

This was the Christmas of American Girl. So on Grace's birthday after her pj and pancake party she and I headed to the American Girl head quarters aka Alderwood Mall. Yeah I really do love my daughter.
The store was huge, red and girls were walking around holding these perfect little dolls everywhere. At one point Grace in the car said to me, "mom what is the big deal with these dolls".
I told her the truth. That is that I do not know , but you are lucky to have one and by golly you better enjoy this:)
Meeting up with Carly and Grandma D made for a wonderful afternoon at the bistro.
We drank with our pinkies out and giggled lots.
Grace was made to feel very special on her birthday and I am sure she will remember  her special day for a long time.

Saturday

Pancakes & PJ's

Pancakes and PJ's is how we celebrated Grace's 7th Birthday today!
Well of course a few of her favorite friends, loads of whip cream and lots of glitter.
Love you Grace.
Happy Birthday Today!
To the moon and back.
We are so lucky.
We are so proud.
Hope all your wishes come true!

Tuesday

Happy 5th Birthday Emmit

Happy Birthday Emmit.
Today you are 5 years old!
We love you very much and thank our lucky stars for the day you were born.
You bring our family so much joy and happiness.
To the moon and back my sweet boy. That is how much we will always and forever love you.

Sunday

Photo Shoot

I don't consider myself a photographer.
I am not a professional.
I just thought to myself this last week, "YOU CAN DO IT".
A stop at the gap outlet to buy some clothes with no holes or pictures of Justin Bieber on them and I was ready for my photo shoot this morning.

Grace and Emmit were good sports for the most part. My next career I know for sure I will not be a kids photographer.

Below are just a few of the snaps that I took this morning all under one hour. Two locations were used. Only one outfit used. No flash, no filters, just the real natural light and my two kids. One of maybe a few of these pics will go on the Johnston Holiday card!

Saturday

Forever Young

It is moments like today that I will remember and will most likely make me cry as I watch you get older.
Forever young Emmit.

Falcons

She is #1 in your program.
She hustles down the court.
She looks you in the eye when defending.
She plays defense on both sides of the court, regardless who has the ball.
She takes a lot of shots.
But the best thing she does when she is playing basketball for her team The Falcons is that she smiles the entire time.
So proud of my little player and her team dad!

Halloween 2013

This year once again the amazing Grandma Laurie made  costumes that transformed Emmit into Yoda and Grace into a zombie/ witch lady.

Thank you Grandma Laurie for another great year of costumes.

The tradition is still alive.

Downtown trick or treat, followed by pizza at home with friends, then hitting the pavement knocking on doors and seeing who can get the most candy.

Monday

Field Trip To The Patch

Thank you Emmit for a wonderful morning to the patch.
You skipped.
You ran.
You ate apples off the tree.
Picked the perfect pumpkin and told me that you want to be a farmer when you grow up.

All Things Fall

It's hard to keep up, but we have been busy with all things fall around here.
